Doctors

Ben Braat DVM

Dr. Braat marked his 50th year in practice in the summer of 2016. He was born in Amsterdam, Holland and grew up on a dairy in Newberg. He has family around the state and married his wife Stephanie in 2010. The owner of Linn Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Braat first decided to become a veterinarian at age 8 and never waivered. He graduated from Washington State University with his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1966 and is still an avid supporter of the school. His interests include sports and being outdoors when possible, but is especially committed to his clients and patients, both large and small.  The staff at LVH is constantly amazed at Dr. Braat’s ability to recall patient names dating back many years. He is a founding member of the Northwest Equine Practitioners Association and has served as Treasurer for many years. He is also a member of the Oregon Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Equine Practitioners. A special area of interest is equine reproduction and he is also a member of the Society for Theriogenologists.

Katherine Stern BVMS

Dr. Katie Stern began working for Linn Veterinary Hospital in September of 2018.  She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science at California Polytechnic State University in 2014, before attending the University of Glasgow, UK for veterinary school, where she graduated in 2018.  Dr. Stern predominantly works as a small animal practitioner, and enjoys the variety of cases our busy clinic has to offer.  In her free time, Dr. Stern enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with her family, friends, and of course, her cats!
